Outreach Ministries
Our Mission
Missions are an important part of the ministry of The Church at Woodmoor. Our missions program is administered by the Outreach Committee under the guidance of the following mission statement:
The Outreach Committee of The Church at Woodmoor is dedicated to the
furthering of the Gospel of Jesus Christ on behalf of members, friends and supporters of The Church at Woodmoor. The Outreach Committee administers all donations including money, food, clothing and household goods. The donations of money come from The Church at Woodmoor General Fund. Ten percent of general fund income is designated for missions. Additional contributions specifically designated for "Outreach" are used for the outreach programs or specific ministries requested.
This committee selects individual missionaries and local, state, national and humanitarian organizations that fulfill His command to reach the lost and help the poor, needy, sick, widowed and orphaned.
How We Go About Our Mission
Finances:
Monies come to the missions budget through a ten percent contribution from the General Fund offerings and contributions that are specifically designated for missions. Designations can be made by simply noting on your check or giving envelope the intended ministry.
Food and Clothing:
Donations of food, clothing and household goods may be brought to the church at any time the building is open. These items are then periodically distributed between TriĀ-Lakes Cares, One Nation and La Puente. Items are often sorted to assure that they are clean, in working order and that they go to the appropriate agency.
Policies:
These policies are adopted so that we may further the ministry of The Church at Woodmoor around the world and to our community. These policies will guide how we distribute our outreach resources, how we choose our missionaries and how we balance our missions giving.
- We distribute our funds so as to balance our giving between local, regional and foreign missions. We also balance our giving between Gospel-centered, compassion ministries and social needs efforts.
- Those eligible for our missions giving should be recognized as legitimate missions efforts, financially accountable, well-established and reputable ministries whose work is in agreement with The Church at Woodmoor.
- Missions we support will be re-evaluated regarding our support if the mission or missionary agency changes its field or mission.
- Funds which come in from individuals for specific ministries will, upon approval by the appropriate committee or board, be sent to those designated ministries. As these funds are not expected, they do not become a part of the permanent budget.
One Nation

About One Nation Walking Together
What is One Nation Walking Together?
One nation Walking Together is a non-profit charitable organization committed to making a positive difference in the lives of Native Americans.
How does One Nation Help?
Through generous community support, One Nation has sent hundreds of trucks loaded with food, furniture, hygiene clothing, medical and education supplies to the neediest communities in the United States.
Who receives the goods that One Nation sends to the Native communities/agencies?
One Nation works mostly with community and agency heads to ensure the donated goods are distributed where the need is the greatest. This includes individuals, housing and social service agencies, food banks, schools and clinics.
Who supports One Nation?
In a word, YOU! Financial contributions and donated goods are received from individuals, businesses, clubs, and organizations. Many churches and schools provide gifts and elder boxes for holiday giving. Individuals and service organizations volunteer to help sort goods and load trucks. Others work toward community awareness and fundraising events.
Operation Christmas Child
Each year Operation Christmas Child delivers millions of gift-filled shoe boxes to hurting children around the world. This project is personal- a shoe box gift can be as unique as the person packing it. It's a simple way to share the love of God. These shoe boxes go to children ages 2-14 that might not have a Christmas except for these generous gifts.
Project Redemption Ministries
Rev Stephen and Ruth Fisher working in Zambia have been taking care of children and spreading the word of the Lord. They have a clinic like hospital, Church, and school building to care for the children. The minister to orphans, the staff's children, which includes the vulnerable children who otherwise would have insufficient food and clothing. They also provide free schooling for them as well as their food and clothing. They are in Sunday School each Sunday and attend daily prayer services. Please pray for them so they will grow into responsible grown-ups and respectable citizens who know the Lord.
